We helped with the feature story of a Singaporean TV network, CNA (Channel News Asia) Money Mind, about 4-Day Work Week In Japan. The feature came amidst global attention on how the system would operate in Japan, with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announcing the introduction of the system for its civil servants.
On the first day, we interviewed Ken Ando of Talented People Laboratory Inc.. He spoke about the current state of the working environment in Japan and the challenges of introducing a 4-Day Work Week in an easy-to-understand manner.

This was followed by a shooting with the main character of the event, Mr Kawasaki of Kamiya Corporation. Kamiya Corporation is a door manufacturer in Kanagawa Prefecture, which introduced the 4-Day Work Week system ahead of the Tokyo government. He has been using this system since last April, taking Fridays off in addition to Saturdays and Sundays.

We filmed Mr Kawasaki at work in the office and interviewed Ms Muramoto, who is in charge of human resources, and the company seemed to have a very good atmosphere. The relationship between superiors and subordinates is very close and the introduction of the 4-Day Work Week was the president's idea. I felt as if I wanted to change jobs at this company.

The next day, we filmed at Mr Kawasaki's home. We were able to see how he spends his leisure time now that he has one more day off. We were particularly impressed by what he said in the interview: ‘I am glad that I have an extra weekday off, so I can spend time alone with my son and monopolise him’.

This time, filming and sound were done by a technology company called 104 coLtd. Videographer was done by Tokuyama and sound was done by CHI YUE, both of whom are reliable staff and we will continue to ask them for help in the future.
CueRio's CueRio staff with a partner videographer plan allows you to film without actually coming to Japan, so I highly recommend this option too.
