It's been a while since the last update.
For about a month in May and June, I was involved in a filming project, neither TV nor movie, that I can't disclose the details of yet.
Together with a British producer and four Slovakian cinematographers, we traveled from Tokyo to Osaka and Kyoto, filming in a variety of locations. Each place had its own unique characteristics and was very interesting.
In Tokyo, we photographed in Shinjuku Omoide Yokocho, the Imperial Palace, and the Tokyo Station area. I don't know if people in Tokyo are not interested in other people or if they are reserved, but I rarely received any attention or questions.
In Osaka, by contrast, people are much closer to each other, and many people were interested in talking to us. Basically, we were shooting in the Minami area, and if I brought a gift or something, they were usually happy to give me permission to shoot and talked to me about various things. I feel like the vibes are somewhat comfortable for me.
Finally, in Kyoto, when I called some of the places for inquiries, I found some of them to be a bit cold, and I got the feeling that they didn't want to accept first-time visitors. However, as we continued to actually stay and shoot, we gradually learned how to get along with them. We are especially grateful to Fujioka Sake Brewery for giving us the OK to photograph brewing equipment inside their brewery. Their flagship sake, Sookuu was delicious!

We really want to thank the four photographers who persevered and worked so hard to keep shooting despite many stressful situations, such as not getting permission to shoot and bad weather that didn't work out the way we wanted it to. I also learned a lot from our British producer who worked with us on the production, so it was a very beneficial shoot. I look forward to the day when you all can come back to Japan for another shoot!
